Prof John Taylor – Deputy Chairman
John is an architect-planner who was trained and has practised in England and North America. He served as a Visiting Professor at the University of York, where he was Chairman of the King’s Manor SCR for over 20 years. He is a former Principal of Bretton Hall, College of the University of Leeds, where he held the Foundation Bramley of Educational Development.
John’s research has been supported by Fellowship appointments sponsored by the Fulbright, Nuffield and Salzburg Foundations, as well as by OECD, UNESCO and the Winston Churchill Trust. This research has resulted in major publications on instructional planning and simulation systems which has been published by, amongst others, Cambridge University Press, the Open University and Penguin Books.
His most recent work has involved acting as an education consultant on the Prince’s Trust’s ‘Alternative Medicine Advisory Group’. This work was done at the same time as he worked in Geneva, with the International Red Cross and the World Health Authority. He has recently served on the Lay and Examination Committees of the Royal College of Surgeons and on the Council of the Royal College of Radiographers, where he is an Honorary Member.
