Corinne O'Donnell is organising a series of events to raise awareness and money for our charity, that culminates in August when she'll be doing The Inca Trail, a tough trek to the Peruvian ruins of Machu Picchu.
The Inca Trail charity challenge begins in the Inca Capital of Cusco – a fascinating city hidden deep in the Andes Mountains and ends at Machu Picchu – one of the world’s most important archaeological sites.
This trail encompasses 3 high mountain passes – the highest being 4,200m. It is a tough trek, with breathtaking views of the Andes and the legacy of a majestic ancient civilisation.
Corinne says in her Virgin Money Giving page:
In August 2019 I will be doing the Inca Trail. Part of the challenge is to raise £3400 for a chosen charity. I have chosen MDS UK as my sister Fiona suffers from it.
MDS UK Patient Support Group provide a support and networking service for patients and families affected by the blood disorder Myelo-Dysplastic Syndromes (MDS) - a type of bone marrow failure.
We are immensely grateful to Corinne for her courage and generosity. She has already raised an incredible £3,246 which will make a great difference to patients. Let's help Corinne beat her target of £3,400!
Thanks to people like Corinne and her friends and sponsors we are able to support MDS patients and their loved ones at those critical moments when anxiety strikes. We provide a 1-2-1 helpline opened 5 days a week, organise local meetings and maintain an updated website and Facebook Group, among other activities. Thanks for making this possible!
A special thanks goes to David Scott from RD Wines for the great wine bottles donated for the raffle prizes and as well for the wine tasting event “Whose Wine is it anyway” which David helped to run!
