MDS UK Patient Support Group is the only charity dedicated to working on behalf of MDS patients and their families in the UK, and it relies entirely on donations to continue its work.

This last year has been difficult for everyone, and it is no different for the small but effective charity that represents us as MDS patients.

Can you help with a donation to help MDS UK continue its work?

One way you can help is through a one-off minimum suggested donation of £13.99 (includes postage to UK addresses) through Just Giving, for the current MDS UK Fundraiser in memory of MDS UK Kent Group member Ron Holder.

As a bonus you will then receive a copy of Ron Holder's excellent book 'Twice A Refugee' in return. It's an autobiography of the first amazing 20 years of Ron's life, covering the period from 1941 to 1961. It was originally intended for Ron's family and close friends only, but shortly before he passed away in January 2020 he kindly made it available to a wider audience to raise funds and awareness for MDS UK - so it can't be found anywhere else.

To donate and get your copy, please email me in the first instance at: kentgroup@mdspatientsupport.org.uk

There are two readings from Ron's amazing story on our very own MDS UK web site. These extracts are read by Laurel Lefkow, whose wonderful voice will be familiar to many radio listeners.

They can be found at:

https://mdspatientsupport.org.uk/donati ... ay-school/
This first reading from Ron’s book describes his elation on the last day of his school life, after being in a boarding school since the age of 4½ years of age.

Ron describes one of the dangerous and harrowing situations that he experienced during his escape from the Belgian Congo on his Lambretta, one in which he was powerless to help others and was fearful for his own life.

If you're not a big reader yourself, you could still help MDS UK with a much-needed donation - and get yourself a gift to give to someone who is, at the same time!

Thank-you!
