After settling into my post university career as an engineer designing medical electronics, I had been looking for ways to spend my spare time that felt worthwhile to me.
Volunteering at MDS UK seemed like a great fit as the thing that’s most affected me in my life is the loss of my wonderful father Martin Brock in 2010 to an MDS related disease.
Outside of my working life I like to get into the country and walk as often as possible, making the most of living right next to the peak district. I love books, art and working with wood and am slowly learning to make less and less wobbly pieces of furniture…
