Start: | 17/10/2020 | End: | 18/10/2020 |
This weekend, 17th and 18th October, marks an important date in MDS UK calendar as the annual “Cabbage Patch Race” - one of our biggest fundraising events - returns!
Last year's race raised nearly a whopping £4000 - due in part to Caitlin Limmer and her team of tireless runners - making a tremendous difference to our work.
For this year’s “invisible” event we’re encouraging anyone who wishes to complete a 10-mile run or walk over a route of their choice over the weekend!
However, you do not have to run to support it. You can also donate towards the event by registering in the same way. Please join if you can!
Funds will be split between MDS UK and Clarendon School, an academy for pupils with moderate learning difficulties and additional complex needs including Autism.
Thank you again to Kevin Price and the rest of The Stragglers for organising this event!
As always, you can contact Jan for more information fundraising@mdspatientsupport.org.uk
The Cabbage Patch 10 has been going for at least the last 35 years – so is almost as old as the London Marathon - and is tremendously popular.
This year, due to Covid-19 restrictions, the big event was cancelled and replaced by The Cabbage Patch Invisible 10.
The organisers say:
"We’re encouraging anyone who wishes, to complete 10 miles over a route of their choice over the weekend of October 17-18.
There will be no entry fee but we are keen to support charities that would have benefited from the race as fundraising has been significantly hit by the cancellation of numerous events, and we will be asking participants to consider making a donation to our race charities, Clarendon School and MDS UK Patient Support Group."
