- This event has passed.
When: 10am – 12noon, Thursday 28th November 2013
Where: Seminar Room 1, Central Baptist Church, Chelmsford, CM1 1LN
To attend: Please contact Chris Dugmore or the main MDS UK office – details below.
Message from Chris – our local organiser:
We are pleased to invite you to the next meeting of the MDS Patient Support Group (Essex). As well as our usual session, updating each other on how our MDS is affecting us, I will try again to invite either a clinical nurse specialist or a dietician. If any of you are in contact with your own haematology nurse specialist or dietician and they would be happy to come along, please let me know.
Please see poster:ESSEX REGION SUPPORT GROUP POSTER281113
This poster was sent out to all local haematology departments in Essex.
But – you can help us to reach more patients:
Please take the poster to your clinics in the next week if you can – in case staff were not able to display it just yet.
Additionally, if your GP surgery or library would display it, we might reach some more MDS patients who are out there but do not know we exist!
Herewith a link to the map for the venue. Tea, coffee and mince pies will be provided on arrival. The cafe Oasis at this venue is open for lunch until 1.30 should anybody wish to stay for a light lunch or there are plenty of eating places in Chelmsford.
As well as the Park and Ride, there is the High Chelmer multi-storey opposite the venue which has a number of disabled parking spaces if you have a blue badge. There are also a number of disabled parking spaces in Market Road and at the venue itself but please contact them in advance if you wish to use it. Please see link to parking map of Chelmsford.
IMPORTANT: I would be grateful if you would confirm your attendance as soon as possible but by by 25th November (Monday) at the latest as I do need to let the venue know about the refreshments. It is really important that you do this so please either tell me straight away or make a diary note to contact me in November so I don’t have to chase you up!! Obviously, I recognise that it can happen that health situations/ treatment requirements make it impossible to come and if there are lots of absentees I can cancel the event if necessary.
The event is free to MDS patients and their families as it will be funded by MDS UK Patient Support.
If you have never contacted MDS UK before:
Please make sure you call the main office first on 0207 733 7558 so that we can send you an in formation pack and assist with any immediate issues or queries you may have.
The local support groups are there to meet other patients and relatives – but please always contact our national office and the patient liaison for specific issues.
We look forward to hear from you.
