Here is a newspaper article about Padraic – as well as a few words he sent us about his association: http://www.theirishworld.com
Padraic says: “It was a great honour to be the first person to be awarded the freedom of Kells. Kells is possibly one of the oldest towns in Ireland with a wonderful history.”
“The Association was formed in 1958, the purpose being to create a focal point for people from Co Meath. Our main purpose is still to keep in contact with people from Co Meath and to assist those who may need help. In the past we took part in various festivals raising funds for different charities, sadly these festivals have all gone by the wayside. We also have an annual fund raising Buffet Dance the proceeds of which also go to various charities.
Other Irish counties also have associations many of which will be taking part in this years St Patrick’s Day parade on Sunday March 18th from Hyde Park Corner to Trafalgar Square”
