Peter Milne golfing friends are holding a memorial golf day for him at Denham Golf Club on Thursday 13th July. They will be raising funds for the MDS UK Patient Support Group.
Diagnosed shortly after he retired, Pete battled with his condition for two years. In that time he was given the gift of hope by Anthony Nolan who twice managed to find a suitable bone marrow donor and a chance of a cure. His first bone marrow transplant allowed Pete to go on holiday with his family and watch his daughter getting married.
We would like to thank Pete's friends for organising this golfing event in his memory and for the generous support to our small charity.
The funds will all be dedicated to help MDS patients and their families by giving them information and emotional support. We would like to ensure that all patients and families receive the attention and information they need during those particularly difficult times – straight after diagnosis, as treatment changes, time of transplant or progression of the condition.
