Essex Support Group Meeting 12/04/16 (+ speaker on blood transfusions)

Dear All

I am pleased to invite you all to the next meeting of the MDS Patient Support Group (Essex). This will be at the same venue, Central Baptist Church, on Tuesday, 12th April 2016 from 10-12.

We have been successful in getting a really interesting speaker to come along whose work is so relevant to many of us who need blood transfusions. Her name is Sue Turner and she is a Blood Transfusion Practitioner from Colchester Hospital. She is very knowledgeable speaker and will be able to answer general questions about blood transfusions.  Please note, as ever, our speakers are not able to give clinical advice on your particular circumstances.

Please let me know in good time whether you are attending or not as I need to order teas and coffees. If you can reply sooner rather than later that would be really helpful and save me from having to chase you!!

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided on arrival. The Cafe Oasis at this venue is open for lunch until 1.30 should anybody wish to stay for a light lunch or there are plenty of eating places in Chelmsford.

As well as the Park and Rides on either side of the City, there is the High Chelmer multi-storey opposite the venue which has a number of disabled parking spaces if you have a blue badge. There are also a number of disabled parking spaces in Market Road and at the venue itself but please contact them in advance if you wish to use it.

IMPORTANT:
I would be grateful if you would confirm your attendance as soon as possible but by Thursday, 7th April as I do need to let the venue know about the refreshments or we end up paying too much or not having enough ordered! It is really important that you do this so please either tell me straight away or make a diary note to contact me so I don’t have to chase you up!! Obviously, I recognise that health situations/ treatment requirements make it impossible to come and if there are lots of absentees I can cancel the event if necessary. The event is free to MDS patients and their families as it will be funded by MDS UK Patient Support Group.
