Taking place on the 1st May 2022, the Tour de Manc is an epic challenge and you’ll be “Mad ‘fer it”!
* 10 Boroughs * 200 miles * 10000ft
This is an not event for the unprepared or faint hearted. It’s a great adventure. Come and support the great TEAM BLOOD RUSH led by Nick Hall!
Nick has been supporting MDS UK since 2019 when he completing the Prudential Ride London with 5 other cyclists and last summer he completed the gruelling Tour de Portugal. You can read about it here: An MDS Diagnosis won’t stop Nick Hall!
And now, on May 1, 2022, Nick will ride through Manchester with 25 fellow cyclists: Nick, Robby, Rob, Boothy, The Baker Boys, Danny, Phil, Chaddy, Mike D, Mike K, Tony, Chris S, Chris M, Brogan, Lucia, Deccers and Laura, Gareth, Andy, Nathan, Paul VdK, Matt, John H, John B !!!
We are so grateful to TEAM BLOOD RUSH for their heroic efforts in support of MDS UK last weekend!
Here are a few photos from the day.
Nick says in his JustGiving page:
When I was diagnosed with MDS in 2015 it was pretty devastating. I’d been a keen cyclist for many years and wondered why I’d suddenly been struggling to keep up with my mates. MDS was the answer, and although I have trilineage dysplasia I am fortunate that my disease has not been aggressive and I can still live a pretty normal life, including cycling – albeit a lot slower!
I am also lucky to have great treatment from Dr Mike Dennis at The Christie in Manchester and after a bit of arm twisting Mike has already signed up to be part of our team and ride the 160Km (100 mile) route.
MDS patient support does some amazing work supporting people with MDS, their families and carers and like most small charities has suffered a huge loss of income during the pandemic!
If you are a keen cyclist – and wish to support MDS UK and blood cancer patients – please know we have places for the LONDON RIDE:
Join Team MDS at Ride London-Essex 100 for the experience of a lifetime
It's on the 29th May 2022. And we have a few places left!
