BOURNEMOUTH MDS SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS
FOR THOSE AFFECTED BY MYELODYSPLASTIC SYNDROMES
WEDNESDAY MEETINGS EVERY 4 MONTHS FOR COFFEE AND A CHAT
This our most recently created Group. Please come and join this meeting to help turn it into a successful group for the region. All local patients are welcome to attend, as are relatives and friends.
This is an opportunity to get to know one another, share experiences and increase the support network in the area, particularly for newly-diagnosed patients.
Date: Wednesday, 8th July
Time: 10.30 am – 1 pm
Location: The Grove Hotel, 2 Grove Road, East Cliff, Bournemouth, Dorset, BH1 3AU
Guest speaker: Jim Phillips, Health Coach from My Health, My Way
My Health My Way is a service which operates in Dorset and provides non clinical support from specially trained health coaches who work with patients with long term condition. In particular they help:
– build skills, knowledge and confidence to start taking control of one’s health condition rather than letting it control you
– build and maintain one’s confidence to self manage areas like pain or fatigue, exercise or dietary changes, anxiety or depression.
– make better, more informed choices about medications and improve one’s ability to converse with healthcare professionals about one’s care options.
Please come and join us at the next meeting to learn more about the service and how to self-manage your condition, as well as to meet and share experiences with other MDS patients in your local area.
