Agenda 12th March

  • 10.00am arrival for start at 10.30am Coffee/Tea
  • 10.30 - 11.20 Discussion – Patients and carers share their experience in dealing with the disease
  • 11.20 - 11.45 Coffee/Tea
  • 11.45 - 12.45 Presentation by Guy Rouquette, Member of the Bournemouth MDS Support Organisation Committee on “MDS and Quality of Life: assessment and coping suggestions”
  • 12.45 - 13.00 wrap up

Please feel free to suggest topics and themes that you would like to hear about - or speakers you have found helpful.
Please also consider giving a brief informal chat yourself about how you are dealing with MDS - what you have learnt, what has been helpful, what has been good to avoid as well.  This is incredibly useful information to share with others.

Carers/relatives/friends also particularly welcome to share their experience.  As an observer, you see things differently, you will contribute immensely to such a group meeting. You also have tips and advice - for patients, but also for fellow carers.
You need support too - it is sometimes not so easy.  Come and share what is helping you - and what's not so helpful.

Patients in the Wessex region can also benefit from additional complementary treatments and services, provided free of charge by the Wessex Cancer Trust.

We encourage you to check their website:

www.wessexcancer.org.uk/Pages/Category/centres At all of our free Cancer Support Centres, clients are welcomed by our volunteer befrienders who are equipped to provide information, support and a listening ear.

Our team of specialist counsellors are there to help deal with the emotional impact of cancer and our complementary therapists aim to improve well-being, help with pain management and increase self-confidence.
