On the 27 Sept 2020 Alastair Day is running the Berlin Marathon and raising funds for our small charity.
Alastair is an MDS patient and also an experienced runner, who has many kilometres under his belt! We are lucky to have him as our supporter.
He tells us about his experience:
I was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome in 2016 and am currently in a low risk category with no intervention or drugs. Since many patients are far worse off than me, I am trying to raise some money to add to funds to create awareness and support sufferers.
Alastair always tried to keep fit with running, cycling, sailing and hiking. A couple of years ago he celebrated forty years of running with the Hash House Harriers a worldwide non-competitive social running club.
We are immensely grateful to Alastair for thinking of us, and full of admiration for his determination and stamina.
THANKS A MILLION TO ALASTAIR, AND HIS FRIENDS AND SPONSORS FOR THEIR GENEROSITY!!
Thanks to Alastair and other supporters like him we are able to support MDS patients and their loved ones at those critical moments when anxiety strikes. We provide a 1-2-1 helpline opened 5 days a week, organise local meetings and maintain an updated website and Facebook Group, among other activities.
