Sussex/Brighton Local group meeting

Postby sophie » 11 Jan 2013 18:05

A brand new local group is starting on the 6th February 2013.
5pm to 8pm
We encourage all of you in the area to attend this first meeting.
This has been made possible thanks to the great staff at the Brighton hospital and 2 patients who are helping out with the coordination of the group.
Find out more on our website.
I will give a brief update on how local groups are doing - and physicians will give an overview of MDS.
I look forward to seeing you there.
Bring friends and family.
Thank you
Sophie - Patient Liaison

Alison Parker reports back on the 2nd Sussex/Brighton patient meeting:
A very good second MDS support Group meeting in Brighton on Monday evening.
We had several new members arrive to join in an informal evening discussing our own stories and how MDS effects our quality of life.
Very interesting listening to other patients stories.
A huge thank you to Sam Bartlett and Katie Sawford for running the evening and for organising the venue etc.
Hopefully a few more patients will come along for the third meeting - date to be confirmed.
It would be good if we could get a dietician along for some advise or maybe a Doctor from Worthing or another local Hospital so they can see what we are doing.

Thank you for the feedback Alison :)
Thank you to Katie and Sam :)
 Let's try and organise a speaker for an informal talk on dietary advice for the next group.
 We do have a presentation on Nutrition on our website as well - under Life Style Advice:
http://www.mdspatientsupport.org.uk/what-is-mds/information-material/

And indeed - let's invite staff and more patients from Worthing and other local hospitals to attend.
Please spread the news if you live in this area.
Thank you

Alison, Lynn, David - please post the date and details for the next meeting in this folder.

Everyone - please feel free to use the chat folder for the Sussex Group to communicate or talk about your experience at the Brighton group.
