Are there any MDS sufferers from Somerset?

Hi, I've been diagnosed with MDS and I live in Somerset. Are there any members from Somerset out there? I'm a 69 year old grandmother. At the moment I've been diagnosed with a low risk as it's my platelets which are low.
Red widow aged 70. MDS -20Q+t(1,9) diagnosed June 2013 on watch and wait. Lives in Somerset

Hello Red,

Welcome to our Forum. Yes I am from North Somerset, a village called Yatton approx. 3 miles from Clevedon, 7 miles from Weston-super-Mare and 12 miles from Bristol.

I have a low risk MDS with del 5q diagnosed in June/July 2011. If you would like to post privately I am quite happy to exchange information and chat informally if that helps.

Aged 62. Diagnosed with MDS 5q-, June 2011 & been on Wait and Watch regime On 25/11/14 told disease had progressed to High Risk with 15-20% blasts. Starting Intense Chemotherapy on 20/1/15 prior to SCT. Live in Yatton near Bristol/Clevedon.
